You cat has a disease?
Cats, actually all animals can get sick just like we humans get sick sometimes. As a cat owner, you are responsible to observe the health of your cat. This is really important and must be done. Just like humans, cats have these phases of their lives when they show signs of weak health. When there are signals that your cat could be sick, you have to be prepared and you have to do what is indeed helpful for your cat.
There are several kinds of diseases that cats can get
-
Diarrhea
If your cat has diarrhea for a certain time period, you should act. The first thing you need to do is to change your cat's diet. There might be substances in the cat food that your cat does not do good with. When there is still a continuous diarrhea after you have changed the diet, the best thing you could do it to bring your cat to a veterinarian. -
Diabetes
As well as humans, cats can get diabetes. This occurs mostly when they become older. There are also other causes of diabetes than just the age of your cat. It can be an improper food intake, genetically related... When you notice signs and symptoms, take the cat to a veterinarian to provide propper treatment. -
Throwing up
Cats sometimes throw up, that does not mean that something is wrong with your cat. In most cases the problem is that cats swallow too many hair while cleaning themselves. You can help you cat with a brush once a day... Sometimes the food is the problem. Change the food if you cat keeps throwing up, sometimes cats are allergic to a certain kind of food. Throwing up leads to dehydration, so give your cat enough water. If the cat keeps throwing up for more than 2 days, you must take it to a veterinarian! -
FIV
This cat disease has something to do with HIV. All you can do to be sure that your cat does not get it, is to seclude it from other cats. In most cases this is hard to do, providing you want to let your cat outdoors. The risk for your cat to get FIV is small but it can happen.
Finally you must know that it is always better to seek the help and wisdom of an expert like a
veterinarian. Some diseases can be a threat to the life of your cat, so don't try to play the doctor
yourself!
